​The Challenger Science Fair was held on Thursday, January 30, 2020.  


Students of all ages are invited to participate in the Science Fair. Students in 5th grade will be participating in the Science Fair as a graded project.  Students will work on their projects leading up to the fair. Judging will take place during the day. The evening's events will include awards and a Science Fair open house for friends and families.

SCIENCE FAIR INFORMATION


Challenger Elementary School is pleased to invite all K-5th graders to participate in this year’s SCIENCE FAIR! Students have the opportunity to create their own personalized investigations that go beyond the classroom. It is our hope that in offering this opportunity, students will further foster an appreciation for science.
 
Date:              Thursday, January 30th, 2020
Location:       Challenger Elementary
Time:              8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Winners Announced at PTA Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
                                   
Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category per grade level. Fifth grade top award winners in each category advance to compete in the Northeast Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair at UAH held  March 17-19, 2020
 
Project Categories 
  • Behavioral and Social Sciences (BEHA), Earth and Environmental Sciences (EAEV), Engineering Mechanics (ENMC), Physics and Astronomy (PHYS).

Eligible Students:      
K – 5th Grade Students
Individual or Team.
Fifth Grade: Teams can be no larger than 2 people. Students on teams must be in the same class. Teacher approval required for all 5th grade teams. 
K-4: Teams can be any size
